Could Los Angeles Rams sign recently released ILB Todd Davis from Denver Broncos?
In a bit of a stunner, the Denver Broncos released ILB Todd Davis today.
A six-year veteran, Davis has played all across the Broncos' linebacking unit over the last few years. A versatile, rangy backer, Davis is dealing with a calf issue that could keep him out of any early action to start 2020. But given his experience and production, he would be an immediate fit for the Los Angeles Rams.
The Rams are already down a man with ILB Travin Howard out for the year with a knee meniscus tear, but they're also likely going to be without rookie EDGE Terrell Lewis as well who has a knee issues himself. Davis would add some veteran class to the group when he gets healthy and surely would be a more solid contributor than some of the depth the Rams are hoping to cultivate over the course of the season. It's also worth noting that new Rams Defensive Coordinator Brandon Staley was the outside linebacker coach in Denver last year, so there's certainly a familiarity between the two.
Might wanna keep an eye on the wire to see if the Rams make a jump at Davis over the weekend as they finalize their 53-man roster.
