ILB Travin Howard (knee) to miss 2020 season
Ugh. Not even to roster cuts and we're already hitting our first season-ending injury.
Los Angeles Rams ILB Travin Howard will miss out on the 2020 season after tearing the meniscus in his left knee in practice last week. Howard was expected to be competing for a starting job among the inside linebacker candidates along with Micah Kiser, Kenny Young and Troy Reeder.
Howard, a seventh-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, didn't get on the field his rookie year; in 2019, he was a special teams standout leading the unit in tackles and even getting some time with the defense logging 103 snaps (9.2% of total defensive snaps).
Howard was on a 2-year futures contract he signed going into last year so he's scheduled to become an exclusive rights free agent next spring. I'd bet on the Rams bringing him back if his rehab goes according to plan.
Get well, Travin!
